MELANIE GODSEY

I am a Seattle based actor, director, playwright, producer, and parent. Some recent roles include Hortensio/Gremio in Shrew (Union Arts Center), Margot/Maxine US in Dial M for Murder (Village Theatre), Alice in The Book of Will, and Shelby in Steel Magnolias (Taproot Theatre).

My original plays have been produced with Taproot Theatre, The Co-Conspirators, The Seattle Play Series, and New Mexico Actors Lab, and have received workshops with Seattle Repertory Theatre, Taproot Theatre, and Macha Theatre Works. 

As a Script Consultant, I work with writers at all stages in their careers who are developing musicals, educational plays for young audiences, tv pilots, short films, and full length stage plays.

I am a proud founding member of The Co-Conspirators, a femme-forward producing collective, with whom I directed my original play, SPONSORED BY THE VOID, for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August, where it received a Critic’s Choice Award, and in Seattle, a People's Choice Gregory Award for Outstanding Production- Limited Run.
